Worship
“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:21-24
Our number one goal and purpose is to minister to the heart of the Lord.
The Mission of Our Worship
To be a fragrant offering to Jesus. (John 12:3)
To worship under the delight of the Father knowing first that he sings and rejoices over us (Zeph 3:17) and is pleased with us, not seeking approval of man (Galatians 1:10) knowing we are His sons and daughters. (Gal 4:4-7)
Growing and cultivating our awareness and sensitivity to what Holy Spirit is feeling, doing, and speaking (Eph 4:30, Psalm 139: 17-18)
To be authentic in our offering, living righteous lives that champion Justice. (Amos 5:24 But Let Justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream) (Romans 12:1-2)
To worship with all our might with all our strength and ability, not afraid of being undignified, humbling ourselves in our own sight. To honor, rejoice in, and value the presence of God in our midst.
2 Samuel 6:14 “Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet. 16 Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart… 21 So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. 22 And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight.
To grow in our skill (Psalm 33:3, 1 Chron 15:22, 1 Chron 25:7, 1 Sam 16:17) To steward well, the gifts/talents he has given us (Matthew 25:14-30)
To join in being creative with the creator, and sing new songs. To honor Him in creating new songs and artistic expressions that reveal His Kingdom on Earth. (Psalm 98:1, Psalm 40:3, Psalm 96:1-13, Rev 5:9, Psalm 33:1-22, Isaiah 42:10, Psalm 144:9, Psalm 96:1)
To worship in Spirit and Truth
But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. – John 4:21-24
As a family, and team, to grow in unity and in loving one another well (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, John 13:35)
